Catching Up / 'Tis the Season

It has been a whirlwind at the Camellia House for the last few months. For those of you that do not know, Mike Raeder and I got married here at the house on October 22nd and it was beautiful. The ceremony and reception were in our backyard. So many friends and family joined us from all over the country and with the help of modern technology we showed the whole ceremony Live on the internet for anyone who could not be here.

Now the holiday season is upon us and things are still full-steam ahead. The house will be on the Tifton Merchant Association's Holiday Porch Tour on December 1st.

We will be hosting a family dinner for The Christian Home Education & Social Society.

Madi Carter, a Ballerina from Dance Arts Valdosta. will be at the house for a Sugar Plum Tea Party and performance on December 18th. She is currently starring in the 51st Anniversary Performance of "The Nutcracker" in Valdosta.

As the holidays quickly approach us I find myself sitting on the porch and hearing a voice inside my head say, "Slow down, relax, enjoy." We are all so blessed and sometimes in the craziness, we forget what really matters. Faith, Family, Friends. This is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the greatest gift ever given, and remember that through Him all things are possible. He is the calm in every storm. He is the lighthouse guiding us. I find myself turning to Him more and more, and what I find Him saying to me the most is to be 'still'.

Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of Mike, Jessica, and I moving to Tifton. This past year has been filled with a lot of ups and some downs, but always had a firm belief that we were led to Tifton, Georgia, and this home for a purpose. We are still finding our way but with our Faith, Family, and Friends we are finding our course.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Camellia House to you and your family.
